What is your favorite part about Mentor Pods?
I love the group learning dynamic and the wide range of topics covered. I’ve often described it as a mini-masters in business. While I personally have taken so many sales & marketing tools away from lessons in my direct role, some of my favorite lessons are ones that are not related to my role at all! I believe that having a well rounded foundation makes you a better team member. The filter that I can see all conversations through from financial to Operations is invaluable. Business talk aside- the community created within our pod and getting to be surrounded by a variety of business leaders provides a unique learning environment where you learn from each others collective experiences, and not just a coach.
How has Mentor Pods Improved performance in your role?
I think the biggest thing our team needed was visibility- and we accomplished this by implementing better KPI metrics & tracking data with one of the many scorecard tools shared in Mentor Pods. One of my favorite quotes from Mentor Pods is “If you track it, it will improve”. When I started Mentor Pods in June, we had little data and short term sales tracking capabilities. Now we have revenue projections that stretch more than 12 months into the future, and our goal-setting and confidence in the trajectory of our business have completely changed. We ended 2022 with 100% revenue growth, and we are tracking to do 150% or better in 2023.
How has Mentor Pods improved your personal life?
I am 100% someone who is prone to becoming work absorbed when I am passionate about the work I am doing. Mentor Pods takes the wholistic approach to business, and really helped me understand that you can’t be the best version of yourself if you aren’t also prioritizing your personal well-being. Our calls are often filled with vulnerable conversations about mental health & personal blocking issues. The open focus time & personal lesson topics have helped me understand that everyone struggles with similar issues. In order to achieve my professional goals, prioritizing my mental health and finding a balance to also live life is important, and my Pod has helped me focus on that over the last 9 months.
What is your best advice for someone interested in Mentor pods?
As someone who is not a CEO or a Business Owner, the tools I’ve gotten to take back to my team and the relationships I’ve built with other like minded business professionals is truly priceless. I feel like my confidence in my ability to perform in my role, and being able to bring that confidence into other areas of our business have directly impacted our success and planted seeds for scaleability. If you’re on the fence about joining- take the leap.
